The Eye of Graeae isn't some dusty trinket you stumble upon in Genshin Impact — it's the key to helping Goggles, the ever-chatty companion who makes exploring the frozen wilds of Snezhnaya a whole lot less lonely. But there's a catch: the Eye is split into three fragments, and each one is locked behind its own questline. There's no two ways about it; if you want the full set, you'll have to roll up your sleeves and see all three storylines through to the end. Once you do, you'll unlock the "Her Palace Collapses Into the Blizzard" questline, which kicks off with "An Ark That Used to Be a Soul."

Here's the lowdown on all three fragments and where to snag them.

Fragment One: Hesperides of Love and Hate

The first fragment comes from the Hesperides of Love and Hate questline. To get the ball rolling, the Traveler heads to the central waypoint of Svetloledovka and simply walks forward — right off the edge, tumbling to the bottom of the valley. It's a bit of a drop, but nothing a seasoned adventurer can't handle.

Down there, miners and NPCs mill about, some waiting on wooden platforms. One of those platforms hides a shiny spot. Interact with it to receive an "Invitation to the 'Ritual'," which updates the Eye of Graeae quest. Alternatively, a Snegovik near the Teleport Waypoint will hand over an invite if you chat her up.

Next, the Traveler makes for the Fellfrost Peak Statue of the Seven, south of town. This triggers the "Continue climbing the snowy mountain" task in the "Through the Gates of Ivory" quest. Following the blue marker leads to Ikhor, and that meeting officially starts the Hesperides of Love and Hate questline. Complete the chain, and the first Eye of Graeae fragment is yours.

Fragment Two: In the Dwelling of Life

With one fragment under the belt, it's time to hunt down the second. The Traveler warps to the Statue of the Seven in Flamefeather Valley, west of Morepesok. A stone's throw south, an NPC named The Anvil is spoiling for a fight. Beat them in combat, and the In the Dwelling of Life questline begins on the spot. Finish it, and fragment number two is in the bag.

Fragment Three: On One Side a Palace, On the Other a Tomb

The third and final fragment is tied to the On One Side a Palace, On the Other a Tomb questline, which triggers immediately after the previous one wraps up. The Traveler heads to the Central Station and finds the Eye of Graeae sitting pretty inside one of the train carriages. From there, the mission whisks them away to the Snowgrave area and grants access to the Pale Crown Palace.

This is where the story pulls the rug out from under you. Inside the palace, the group learns who Aksinya truly is and why she crafted the Eye of Graeae in the first place. Once the true purpose of the Goggles is revealed, Aksinya bolts for the Shadow Realm, and the Traveler has to chase her down to save Goggles. A showdown against Aksinya and Svarod follows, and after both are defeated, players witness the fate of Aksinya and the Eye of Graeae. The "A Thousand Affections Caught in a Sigh" achievement also pops.

Quick Reference Table

2 In the Dwelling of Life Flamefeather Valley Statue of the Seven
3 On One Side a Palace, On the Other a Tomb Central Station (train carriage)

Don't Sweat Losing Goggles

Here's the good news: Goggles is far too important for exploring Snezhnaya, so his power isn't going anywhere. Even after the dust settles, players keep access to his abilities. So there's no need to walk on eggshells — just enjoy the ride and finish the quest normally.

All in all, collecting all three Eye of Graeae fragments is no walk in the park, but it's a journey worth taking. The story delivers plenty of twists, the battles are no joke, and the payoff ties up a major thread in Genshin Impact's frosty frontier. So grab that Invitation, climb those peaks, and show Aksinya what the Traveler is made of. 🎮❄️
